How this site makes money
Nothing, at present. Live Casino Kenya has no income: no affiliate links, no advertising, no paid listings, no sponsored pages, no subscriptions and no sale of data. This page lists every way a site like this could earn, says whether this one uses it, and explains the law behind the absence of operator links.
Income today
None. The site is a demonstration build run at the publisher's cost. No operator, provider, affiliate network or advertiser has paid anything, been promised anything or seen a page before it went live.
Possible sources, and whether this site uses them
| Source | Used on this site? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Affiliate links to casinos (a commission when a reader signs up or deposits through a tracked link) | No | A tracked link that sends a reader to a casino promotes participation in gambling, which may not be advertised on any medium without the Authority's approval (Gambling Control Act, 2025, s.87(1)). The site holds no approval. There are no links to operators anywhere on it. |
| Display advertising for gambling brands | No | Same section. Every approved gambling advert must also carry the licence number, the licensee's name and customer-care number and the prescribed wording (L.N. 114 r.8(c)), be submitted seven days in advance (r.5) and avoid calls to action and inducements (r.9). None of that exists here because no advert exists here. |
| Display advertising for other products | No | Not used. Ad scripts would also load code and set advertising identifiers from ad networks, and the privacy page says the site loads no ad network. |
| Paid placement, paid rankings or paid listings | No | The site publishes no rankings or listings at all, paid or unpaid. A paid ranking would be an advert under the definition in L.N. 114 r.2 and a misleading one under r.9(g). |
| Sponsored articles | No | Every page is written from primary sources under the editorial policy. No page has a sponsor. |
| Selling or sharing reader data | No | The site has no forms or accounts, and the analytics it runs is described on the privacy page. No reader data is sold. |
| Subscriptions, memberships or donations | No | Not offered. There is no payment mechanism on the site. |
The law behind the absence of operator links
Section 87(1) of the Gambling Control Act, 2025 prohibits advertising gambling on any electronic or other medium without the approval of the Gambling Regulatory Authority, and extends to the use of celebrities and the sponsorship of events to promote gambling. Breach carries a fine of up to KES 20,000,000, imprisonment for up to 20 years, or both (s.87(4)).
The Gambling Control (Advertising) Regulations, 2026 (L.N. 114), made under s.87(3), define an advertisement as any communication promoting participation in a gambling activity through print, broadcast, outdoor, electronic or digital media (r.2). An advertiser must apply to the Authority on its form at least seven days before a campaign starts, with the full text and artwork, and the Authority keeps a register of approved adverts (r.5). Approved adverts must carry a responsible gambling message in the prescribed words, "gambling is addictive" or "play responsibly" (r.8(c)(ii)), and the words "authorized and regulated by the Gambling Regulatory Authority" (r.8(c)(vi)). They may not contain a call to action, associate gambling with social success, depict gambling as investment or income, appeal to minors, use testimonials or feature former winners (r.9(a)-(f)).
An affiliate link is a call to action with a commission attached. A "best casinos" list is a promotion of the casinos on it. Neither can be published lawfully by a site that holds no approval, and this site intends to hold none. The absence of operator links is therefore not a style choice; it is the law as this site reads it, applied to itself.
What would happen first if this ever changed
If the publisher ever decided to seek income from anything on the list above, the following would happen before a single link or advert appeared, in this order:
- This page would be rewritten to describe the new arrangement, with the date of the change at the top.
- The editorial policy would state how the arrangement is kept apart from what the pages say.
- Any gambling advertising would be submitted to the Authority for approval under s.87(1) and L.N. 114 r.5, and the approval reference would be published here.
- Every page carrying a commercial link or advert would say so at the top of that page, in plain words.
- The publisher's legal name and contact channel would be published, because a site taking money must be answerable to someone.
None of these steps has been taken, and none is planned.
What this means for you
When a page here says that European roulette keeps 2.70% of each bet, or that the banker commission turns a player advantage into a house edge, nobody paid for that sentence and nobody earns when you read it. When a page explains how to set a deposit limit or self-exclude, it is not steering you back to a table. The pages are information for adults, 18 and over, and the only thing the site asks of a reader is to check the sections it cites.
