Live casino game shows: what they are and how they pay

A live casino game show is a money wheel or similar game hosted by a presenter and streamed from a studio. You bet on where the wheel stops, and each number pays its own value, so 10 pays 10 to 1. Multipliers and bonus rounds lift some wins. Evolution gives Crazy Time an RTP of 94.41% to 96.08%.

What is a live casino game show?

A live casino game show is a betting game run by a presenter in a studio and streamed to your screen in real time. Most use a large money wheel mounted upright, and you bet on the segment where it will come to rest. The host spins it, a flapper at the top marks the winning segment, and the software settles every bet.

A classic table such as live roulette with its fixed bets and payouts has one wheel and one pay table. A game show keeps the wheel but adds layers on top: random multipliers, bonus rounds and, in some titles, animated scenes that run between spins.

The examples here come from the providers' own game pages. They are Evolution's Crazy Time, Dream Catcher and MONOPOLY Live, and Pragmatic Play's Mega Wheel. Evolution dates the launch of Crazy Time to July 2020 and says its stream runs 24/7.

How does a money wheel pay?

The number printed on a segment is the payout. Evolution's Dream Catcher page gives the rule in its own example: a winning bet on 5 pays 5 to 1, a bet on 10 pays 10 to 1, and so on. MONOPOLY Live states the same rule and adds that your stake comes back together with the win.

All four wheels have 54 segments, but they split them differently. The table sets out what each provider page states.

Wheel layouts as published on the providers' game pages (October 2026)
Game (provider)Segments as publishedNumber betsExtra features
Dream Catcher (Evolution)54 equal segments: 52 numbered, one silver 2x and one gold 7x multiplier1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 40; each pays its number to 1A multiplier stop keeps all bets in place and the wheel is spun again with the odds multiplied
MONOPOLY Live (Evolution)54: 48 numbered, 2 CHANCE, 3 "2 ROLLS", 1 "4 ROLLS"1, 2, 5, 10CHANCE gives a cash prize or a multiplier; 2 ROLLS and 4 ROLLS start a 3D bonus game with dice rolled in the studio
Crazy Time (Evolution)54: numbers plus bonus segments, including four blue Coin Flip, two green Cash Hunt and one Crazy Time segment1, 2, 5, 10A Top Slot multiplier of up to 50x; four bonus games
Mega Wheel (Pragmatic Play)54 numbered segmentsNine betting positions; a winning number returns the bet plus its multiplierOne random Mega Lucky Number per round with a Mega Multiplier of up to 500x

The pages give the total of 54 segments but not, in the text opened for this guide, how many segments carry each number. Without that count the chance of each number cannot be worked out, so no per-number odds appear here.

What do multipliers and bonus rounds add?

Multipliers are the source of the large wins these shows advertise. In Dream Catcher, a stop on the 2x or 7x segment leaves every bet on the table and the host spins again. The odds of the next result are multiplied, and a second multiplier stop multiplies the first one again.

Illustrative example: you bet KES 100 on 5 in Dream Catcher. A plain stop on 5 pays 5 to 1, so you win KES 500 and get the KES 100 stake back. If the spin before had stopped on the gold 7x segment, the same result pays 35 to 1, a win of KES 3,500.

Crazy Time adds a Top Slot that spins with the main wheel. Evolution's how-to-play page says it awards a multiplier of up to 50x to a number or bonus segment, and that betting time is 15 seconds before each spin. The game page states a 1 in 6 chance of landing a bonus round on each spin.

The four Crazy Time bonus games each work differently. Coin Flip gives each side of a coin a random multiplier, Cash Hunt hides 108 random multipliers behind symbols, and Pachinko drops a puck down a wall of pegs where a "Double" zone doubles the other multipliers. The Crazy Time round itself has a single segment on the main wheel and a top multiplier of 20,000x.

A bonus round pays only the players who bet on it. Evolution says so for Crazy Time and for MONOPOLY Live: anyone else can watch the bonus game but wins nothing from it.

What RTP do providers publish for game shows?

Return to player (RTP) is the share of all money staked that a game pays back over a very large number of rounds. It describes the game in the long run, not the result of one evening. House edge is the remainder, as set out in what house edge means in casino games.

Evolution's Crazy Time game page gives an RTP of 96.08%, and its how-to-play page gives a theoretical range of 94.41% to 96.08%. Illustrative example: 100% minus 96.08% leaves a house edge of 3.92%, and at 94.41% the edge is 5.59%.

The Dream Catcher, MONOPOLY Live and Mega Wheel pages opened for this guide show no RTP figure, so none is given for them here. Figures for other live tables are collected in the RTP figures providers publish for live games.

Kenyan rules require these numbers to be on show. Regulation 20(2) of the Gambling Control (Conduct of Gambling Operations) Regulations, 2026 requires a licensee to display clearly the rules of games, odds, house edge and average return to the player, and r.20(3) applies that rule to online gambling with the necessary modification. Regulation 45(4) adds that the theoretical RTP of each game must be disclosed to the Gambling Regulatory Authority.

Some multipliers come from a random draw rather than from the wheel. Pragmatic Play says the Mega Lucky Number is generated randomly before the wheel comes to rest. Under r.45(2) of the same Regulations, the random number generator used for any game of chance must be certified by the Authority or its approved agent.

How do game shows compare with classic live tables?

The main difference is the spread of results. A classic table pays fixed odds on each bet, while a game show mixes a top base payout of 10 to 40 times the stake with multiplied wins that can run into the thousands. On the figures available, Crazy Time also carries a higher house edge than single-zero roulette.

House edge2.70% (derived: 1/37)3.92% to 5.59% (derived from the RTP range)

Lightning Roulette sits between the two formats. It uses a wheel with 1 to 36 and a single zero, but Evolution pays a straight-up bet without a multiplier at 29 to 1 instead of the usual 35 to 1. In return, one to five Lucky Numbers each round get multiplied payouts of 50x to 500x, and all other bets pay standard roulette odds.

The cost of the multipliers is visible in that pay table. A straight-up win without lightning pays six units less than on a standard wheel. The standard payouts for roulette, blackjack and baccarat are listed on the live table rules page.

What Kenyan law says about betting on a game show

A game show bet is an online bet like any other. Section 71(1) of the Gambling Control Act, 2025 bars a player in an online gambling activity from betting less than twenty shillings, and s.71(3) makes it an offence for an operator to permit a smaller bet. A table may set a higher minimum, never a lower one.

Gambling is for adults of the age of majority, which in Kenya is eighteen. Section 72(3) of the Act requires proof of age of majority before an operator registers any player, and the Conduct Regulations (r.92) bar persons under eighteen. Evolution's own game site asks visitors to confirm they are 18+ before it shows any content.

What this guide does not cover

This page explains how the shows pay; it does not compare operators, say which game to choose or cover bonus offers. Side bets and the hit-frequency tables some providers publish are left out. Guides to the classic tables are listed in all Live Casino Kenya guides.

Questions and answers

Is the wheel in a live game show spun by a real person?

Yes, in the live versions. Evolution's Dream Catcher and MONOPOLY Live pages say a game host spins a super-sized wheel and a flapper marks the winning segment, and the MONOPOLY bonus dice are rolled in the live studio. Some extra features, such as the Mega Lucky Number in Pragmatic Play's Mega Wheel, are generated randomly and shown on screen.

What is the RTP of Crazy Time?

Evolution's Crazy Time game page states an RTP of 96.08%, and its how-to-play page gives a theoretical range of 94.41% to 96.08%. In house edge terms that is 3.92% to 5.59%. RTP is a long-run average across a very large number of spins, so it says nothing about what a single session will return.

Can you predict where a game show wheel will stop?

No. Evolution's own Crazy Time FAQ answers this question with a plain no. Each spin is a separate event, and the past results shown on screen do not change the chance of the next one. What describes the game is its rules, odds, house edge and average return to the player, which Kenyan regulations require the licensee to display.

Do I have to bet on a bonus round to win from it?

Yes. For Crazy Time and MONOPOLY Live, Evolution states that only players with a bet on the matching bonus spot take part in the bonus game and can win from it. Everyone else watches the round on screen. A Crazy Time Top Slot multiplier likewise helps only a bet placed on the spot it lands on.

What is the smallest bet allowed on a live game show in Kenya?

Section 71(1) of the Gambling Control Act, 2025 sets twenty shillings as the least a player may bet in an online gambling activity, and a live game show streamed to a phone is one. An operator that accepts less commits an offence under s.71(3). A particular table can set a higher minimum, but never a lower one.
